Greetings from… Vancouver, Canada
I’m cheating. As I write this, I’m sitting at an airport lounge in Vancouver YVR airport. I’ve actually never been to Vancouver before but I really want to! As my plane was landing here, the city looked absolutely amazing! Next time I have any kind of layover here, I will definitely extend my trip a few days extra to explore!
After Burning Man, I decided to decompress by myself down on the beach in Mexico for 2.5 weeks. I was a little bit worried about the hot temperature down there in early September but thankfully, after the first week, it cooled off and was delightful. Thankfully the A/C blasting in my van from 11am-6pm every day got my through it!
I’ve been down to Puerto Penasco with a group of my RV friends a handful of times and I always have a great time. The beach is also my happy place so I knew I would enjoy it. There was something about my stay there this time that really made it extra special. I walked up and down the beach every day. I stopped at every single beach bar or restaurant while I was there. I walked slow and really took it all in. I kind of fell in love with this little town.
I hung out in Mexico until the last week of September and after that, I went to another one of my favorite festivals, Wasteland Weekend. Wasteland is in Southern California near Edwards Air Force base. I went to Wasteland for the first time last year and I had been dreaming about going back. Anytime I go to the festival for the first time, I usually make a list of things that I wished I had done differently or things I want to try next time so I was excited for my 2nd year. Wasteland reminds me of a renaissance festival however everybody is cosplaying that the world has been destroyed and our little clan in the desert are trying to figure out how to survive (while also partying every night). I had a great time & I definitely have the festival penciled into my plans again next year. Instead of leaving the festival on Sunday morning, I made the decision to skip partying Saturday night so I could pack and leave. I left around 9pm to make the 4 hour drive back to Pahrump. I was able to meet up with a handful of my really good RV friends for breakfast on Sunday morning. I hadn’t seen several of them for a very long time so it really warmed my heart to catch up with them briefly before I had to pack up and race off to catch my Vancouver flight from Las Vegas!
Stay tuned.
