Earthquake In Seattle
In honor of Thirsty Thursday, I met with a couple of friends for a couple of drinks last night. We had a great time and fantastic conversation until around 1am. Post drinks and chatting, I retreated back to my van, which was parked on a side street behind a YMCA and I drifted off to sleep…
I woke up an hour or two later because it kind of felt like somebody was lightly rocking my van! The first thought the came to my mind was maybe somebody trying to steal my bike or get in!
The moment that thought entered my mind, the rocking slowly faded away. It lasted maybe 10 seconds and was very light. My van has rocked more than that in the wind before. I even had a boy over one time and we definitely had it rocking more than that also!
I quickly wondered if I was still feeling the drinks and had imaged or dreamed the rocking or maybe it was just the wind. Everything was silent after that I drifted off back to sleep.
I was awoken the next morning with a call from my mom to make sure that I had survived the earthquake. I had no idea what she was talking about but as the conversation progressed and I continued to wake up, I pieced together the rocking I experienced in the middle of the night!
The earthquake registered as a 4.6 and I was parked about 25 miles from it. I survived my first earthquake! Cool!
If you have an earthquake story, I’d love to hear about it!
