Top 5 Gay Campgrounds

I’ve been traveling in my RV since 2018 & some of my favorite places to stay are gay campgrounds. They can get fairly wild & you never really know what you might be getting yourself into! Just like any campgrounds, they are all very different from each other. I decided to start ranking each gay campground that I go to. Disclaimer: I have only been to 5 gay campgrounds, but here they are ranked:

Van parked outside Rainbow Ranch

5. Rainbow Ranch

Location: Groesbeck, Texas

Men only: No

My review: I stayed here in November 2023. No hot tub (but they had a heated pool). They had a public space that hosted dance parties every night. Internet: Not great (Wi-Fi was ok but I was also camped near the office, cell not great, also lots of trees so not good for Starlink either.

4. Cactus Canyon Campground

Location: Ava, Missouri

Men only: Yes

My review: I stayed here in October 2020. There is an upper level and a lower level on the property. The upper level had a public space that hosted a foam party while I was there. The lower level had a public space with a couple of hot tubs and sauna! Internet: No cell, no wifi, satellite only.

My feet in the pool at Cooper Cactus Ranch

3. Copper Cactus Ranch

Location: Queen Valley, Arizona

Men only: Yes

My review: I stayed here in April 2022. The main building on the pretty was the public gathering area for entertainment. There is an GIANT outdoor pool (with beautiful beautiful view) & a separate outdoor hot tub. There is a kitchen but I don’t recall if I tried anything from it. Beware of snakes on the property! Internet: Cell was good, no wifi, satellite only.

Van parked outside The Sawmill

2. The Sawmill

Location: Dade City, Florida

Men only: No

My review: I stayed here for New Years Eve weekend in December 2023. The Sawmill hosted a lot of great events and entertainment over the two day weekend! They also have a couple of different area in which the events can be hosted from! The vibe was good and honestly, the only thing that prevented The Sawmill from taking the #1 spot for me was the lack of an hot tub (although they did have an heated pool). The food from the kitchen was great! Internet: Cell was good, wifi was good. Several sites, especially the van area in the back had tress so satellite wouldn’t be an option at some sites.

1. Grizzly Pines

Location: Navasota, Texas

Men only: Yes

My review: I stayed here for Halloween weekend in October 2020. They didn’t host any events or entertainment while I was there but all of the public spaces on the property kept me plenty busy! My favorite was the giant hot tub they have! There was a giant Texas Ren Fest happening the same time & they offered a shuttle service to and from the event was great! The foot from the kitchen was great! Internet: Cell was good, no wifi, satellite only
