Ok, so… I’ve always wanted a tattoo but I never knew what to get. I also change my mind a lot. I remember being into astrology in high school and wanting an Aries tattoo but looking back, I don’t know if I would want that now. I might also be a little picky and was always worried that it wouldn’t be straight or there would be something that I didn’t like about it.
My best friend in Omaha, Joe, had his entire sleeves done and he loved it! Over the years he kept saying that I should get a tattoo with him but it never really happened. I remember one time in Vegas, we almost did it but the prices were crazy and we backed out.
As I was making plans to hit the road full time, my days in Omaha were growing smaller and the window of opportunity was closing. Joe tasked me with choosing a design. He gave me his list of things he didn’t want to do (like words or a WWE logo) but he was going to let me find something.
I did multiple google searches for friendship tattoos and I passed a few ideas by him but then we finally settled on one!
I really liked the look and the friendship meaning of the two crossed arrows. Friendship means a lot to me and I deeply value the amazing group of friends that I have collected over the years!
I always have the best times with Joe so I really like the idea that we have permanently solidified our friendship by having needles of ink pressed into our skin!
I also loved the idea of getting my first tattoo at the most popular tattoo shop in downtown Omaha, Nebraska. The city I had lived in for 18 years. We got out tattoos together on the night before I hit the road full time and my escape from Nebraska began!
I was more than nervous going to get the tattoo but it wasn’t bad! I really liked that my first one was a smaller, line style tattoo, no coloring or shading. It was super quick and fairly painless. I have been in way more pain at the dentist’s office before. If you can handle getting a tooth filling, a tattoo will be a piece of cake!
I can definitely say, I’m excited for more and I knew that the second I got one, this would happen! It’s true, they are addicting! I especially like the idea of getting travel related tattoos along with my adventures!
If you have any fun tattoo ideas or stories, especially about your first one, I’d love to hear about it!
