Lego Pumpkin
Around 5 or 6 years ago, I decided that I wanted to build a lifesize Lego pumpkin! I searched high and low on the internet and I finally found somebody who had posted custom directions to build one. The directions sucked but I made due and I started slowly ordering pieces. The directions didn’t say how many total Legos I would need of each size and I didn’t want to order too many. Over the course of the next year, as the next package of orange lego pieces would arrive in the mail, I would assemble the next layer. I didn’t have a lot of free time so built thing very slowly.
About a year later my creation was done and I was so happy! I felt an immense sense of pride looking at my completed Lego project! My Lego pumpkin was alive!
I even entered into him into a couple of pumpkin carving/decorating contests and we won every time! He was so happy about winning but I would feel bad when the other contestants were usually left complaining that we hadn’t followed the rules.
We even started a pumpkin family together.
When I hit the road in my RV, I was left with the difficult decision to travel with the pumpkin or sell it. I figured that I could easily make all of the money back that I had spent on making it but in the end, I just couldn’t part ways with him!
And so, the Lego pumpkin and I hit the road together!
Everything was going great until the faithful day that the pumpkin hid in a cabinet like an asshole and when I opened it, he fell to the floor, breaking my heart into a million orange pieces.
I’ve been carrying a box of his remains with me for the last year and now it’s time to let him go.
Again, I could easily sell the pieces online but more importantly, I would love to pass him on to a friend that rebuilds him into the great pumpkin he was meant to be!
If any of my friends have a lot of free time on their hands during the quarantine, I would love to send this box of legos to you. The only things that I ask is that you are super passionate about it, send progress pics, allow me visitation rights and try your best to rebuild him before Halloween this year!
Reach out to me and let me know if you are interested!
