Greetings from Tokyo, Japan!

My tourist Visa in Singapore is good for a maximum of 3 months at a time. From my comings and goings from Singapore over the last 15 months, I have discovered that when I push my stay to the full 3 months, I will get questioned by immigration at the airport. I’ve also discovered that if my stay is only 1 or 2 months, I usually get waved right through. Since I got back from USA in April, I decided to hop out of Singapore for a quick trip in June. My happy place is a beach so Avy & I decided to go to the island of Phú Quoc, Vietnam. Avy was only able to go for 1 week and I decided I wanted to be out for 2 weeks so I took off a week early and then he would join me there.

Dummy-alert!

I wasn’t paying attention close enough when I booked my flight to to Phú Quoc, Vietnam because I accidentally booked a flight to Phuket, Thailand instead. I realized my mistake the second I pushed the “Buy” button. I tried to cancel the ticket but… no refund. Grrr! I was mad at myself for a second but then I decided to just roll with it. I would take a week hitting up a few places and slowly working my way from Phuket to Phu Quoc. I ended up adding Bangkok and Ho Chi Minh City to my week long itinerary.

This was my 2nd time in Phuket and I really enjoy the beaches there. It was maybe my 5th time to Bangkok and it will always be one of my favorite cities. It was my first time Ho Chi Minh City and I really liked it also. I have a co-worker who is originally from HCMC and he wad there visiting family the same time I wads there so we were able to meet up for a bit. I’ll definitely return there again sometime. Unfortunately, I didn’t really care for Phu Quoc. The weather wasn’t very good. The beaches weren’t up to my standards and I just didn’t vibe with the little beach town. Avy and I made the best of it but I was glad to be saved back through the Singapore immigration line a couple weeks later!

I didn’t actually go to Tokyo in July but I am there now as I am writing this. I’ll have more to say about that in my next update…

Stay tuned…
