Greetings from… Milan, Italy!

In our adventure last month, I had just arrived in Singapore on March 31st. I think I saw this a lot about the different places I travel to but I REALLY fell in with the city. I was only there for 1 week but by the end of it, I didn’t want to leave. I have already started making definitive plans to return there again before the end of the year. One funny note about my decision to go to SIngapore is because I have sort of become a non-stop flight snob. I really don’t like layovers. When I was first booking my international trip, I knew I was going to Thailand and I knew I was going to Greece but I couldn’t find any non-stop flight. Several of the flights between the two destinations were taking me through Singapore. I finally just gave up, cut my Thailand trip short by a week and added Singapore to agenda!

Besides the city being great, the people there are really amazing also!

The food is also wonderful. I was very excited to visit my 2nd Michelin Star resturant! It is famous for being the cheapest one in the world! You can read about that experience here: https://jasonsbigadventure.com/blog/my-2nd-michelin-star-restaurant

My hostel was in the Chinatown area. There were a lot of hostels and nightlife in my neighborhood so I had a great time going out, exploring and socializing. As an added bonus, there were several trains and bus stops right nearby also so it was easy to hop on one and go exploring!

On Sunday, April 7th, I had a 12 flight from Singapore to Athens, Greece. On my first morning there, I really enjoyed setting my super early and watching the sun come up at the Parthenon! It was an amazing experience and I’m happy I made time to see it. My hostel in Athens was also in a night life hotspot. One night I got ready around 10pm & headed to the club, only to discover that it didn’t open until midnight! I walked around to a few of them and they were all closed for a couple more hours! I finally had to settle on a small dive bar for a couple hours. They definitely know how to party in Greece. I had a couple nights at the club drinking until the sun came up!

On Sunday, April 14th, I had a short 2 hour flight to Rome. My hostel there was a little bit more removed from the nightlife, but only by about 1 mile. I kind of laid low during the week and then got my steps in that weekend! I greatly underestimated how cool it would be the Coliseum in person! It was really amazing! I don’t want to talk negative of Rome however, I found the nightlife there was slightly underwhelming. It was little on the cold and rainy side so I will have to come back sometime in the summer!

A week later on April 21st was another highlight for me! I took a trip to my next destination via one of the high speed European trains! For years I fastisized about taking the trains around Europe for a summer so it was really cool to finally be on my first one. I really wish the USA had a better passenger train setup than our current one. My trip was a 2 hour ride from Rome to Florence, Italy.
