Happy Holidays from… Orlando, Florida

After I left the Wasteland festival at the end of September, I went to a regional Burning Man festival in Beatty, Nevada. I did this same regional last year, Southern Nevada Regional Gathering (SNRG).

I really do love the smaller & more intimate vibe of regionals.

Another great thing about SNRG is that it’s only an hour away from my little home base in Pahrump, Nevada. It was nice to go back there for about a week to clean out my van, drop stuff off & get a little bit more organized.

While I was in Pahrump, I become a member of the Elk’s Lodge. Elk’s Lodges have a very good reputation within the RV community. Several of the lodges have RV campgrounds or at the very least, will allow you park in their lot overnight.

When I went through their orientation, I was really impressed at the amount of donations & charity work they do. I’m definitely a very proud, card carrying member now!

As a cheesy side bonus, I love collecting pins along my travels & I was very excited when I found out that many of the Elks Lodges have their own pins! I’ll now be stopping at as many of them as I come across along the way!

Wasteland is going on my list of festivals that I will probably try to attend on a reoccurring basis!

From Wasteland, I went down to Las Vegas for a couple of weeks. Since I have my little spot an hour outside of vegas, I plan to start spending more of my free time there. Since being on the road, several people ask where my “home base” is and I haven’t really had a good answer. I usually just say: the West Coast. Las Vegas is probabaly the closest place I would consider claiming as a “home base”.

I ended the month partying it up. I headed down to Lake Havasu, Arizona for CHASM fest & then back up to Las Vegas for Xscapers RV Club Halloween convergence.

Another rare question that I have received a couple of times is: What is your least favorite place you have been? I didn’t really have a good answer to that question until this year: Lake Havasu, Arizona. Lake Havasu is very popular for hosting RV events there. I have been to this town for events around 6 times in 5 years. On top of that, the times that I have been there, it is usually rainy or cold. Last winter, I left 70 degree weather & the beaches of Mexico to go there. I’m over it. 🫠
