Happy New Year from… San Juan, Puerto Rico!

I have had fun this month checking out Florida, especially the first half of it!

I traveled from the Orlando area down to Miami for a really big annual art festival: Art Basil!

I saw a lot of really amazing art pieces and I had so much fun bouncing around to all of the different events and parties!

After Miami, I went one of the wildest parties I have ever been to! It’s an hour outside of Orlando at a party mansion called The Sausage Castle! This place first got on my radar a couple of years ago when I saw a Vice documentary about it on YouTube. It was crazy & I was happy that I was able to go to their Christmas party! If you wanna hear more about the party, you’ll have to ask me about it person! ;-)

After the wild party, I stayed at Fort Wilderness. This is a Disney World RV park, right near the Magic Kingdom! Staying here was definitely a bucket list item for me! It was also the most expensive RV campground I have ever stayed at in my 5 years on the road! The RV park was very relaxing! I had a blast riding my bike around the huge property and seeing all of the wildly fun Christmas decorations on everybody’s RVs! I enjoyed a boat ride around to the other Disney resorts in the area and watched the fireworks each night!

After DIsney World, I went up to explore the weird little town of the The Villages. The Villages is know for being the most active retirement community in the country. They showed up on radar a couple of years ago, again, when I was watching a documentary.

I love documentaries and the specific kind that I like the most are the ones about odd-ball people or places! It gives me a weird rush to go see the places in person!

I found an old, cute, theater in one of the squares in The Villages and I went go see The Iron Claw! It’s a movie based on the true story of a wrestling family from Texas in the 80’s.

The week of Christmas, I found myself really relaxed, exploring slower, being around a lot of families & retired people. Going to see a movie about family, etc… I will admit that this week kind of got me feeling down just a little bit. Feeling a bit lonely. I made it through though, so no worries.

I left Orlando, went down to St. Petersburg for a couple days & then back up to a gay campground in Dade City for the last few days of the month.

I can’t remember if I wrote about New Years Resolutions back in January but one of my 3 resolutions this past year was to seek out more romance in my life. The total “Date” count in 2023 ended up being a big fat ZERO. I plan to carryover this resolution into next year and significantly increase it!

Cheers to 2024!

My travels this month!

I’ve been stopping at Elk’s Lodges along my travels!

A very hip pro-wrestling show at a skate park under the interstate with DJs in Miami during Art Basil!

Art Gaysel!

I found a giant wooden troll in Miami! There are 120 of these hidden around the world in 17 different countries! I ❤️ it!

I LOVE finding art from Burning Man out in the wild!

Fun Christmas decorations and lights at all of the RV campground sites in For Wilderness!

I got to see the Magic Kingdom fireworks from a boat in the PERFECT spot!

Cheers to 2023!
